The objective of Karnataka Judicial Academy is to impart training to Judicial Officers and also give training to other Officers connected with Administration of Justice in the State.


     Karnataka Judicial Academy owes its existence to the vision and foresight of the then Chief Justice of Karnataka Hon'ble Mr. Justice Y. Bhaskar Rao. It was formally inaugurated on August 7, 1999 by his Lordship Hon’ble Dr. Justice A. S. Anand, the then Hon'ble Chief Justice of India. The Inaugural Function was graced by the then Hon'ble Chief Minister Mr. J. H. Patel and the then Hon'ble Judges of Supreme Court of India namely Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. P. Bharucha, Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. B. Majumdar, Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. Rajendra Babu, Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Hon'ble Mr. Justice R. P. Sethi. The function was presided over by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Y. Bhaskar Rao, the then Chief Justice of Karnataka. Hon'ble Mr. Justice P. Vishwanatha Shetty, the then President of the Academy and Mr. M.C. Nanaiah, the then Hon'ble Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, were the guests of honour.
